GCCP gains approval to resume operations in Malaysia

QUARRYING firm GCCP Resources was on Tuesday given the green light from the Malaysian authorities this week to resume operations in full capacity, the Catalist-listed firm announced in a bourse filing on Thursday.
GCCP's quarry operations will, however, be subjected to precautions, including temperature checks, disinfection of the work site, mandatory wearing of medical facial masks and the practice of proper safe-distancing among the employees on-site.
Malaysia's movement control order is scheduled to end on May 12, although it is subject to further extension.
GCCP, which quarries and processes limestone, mainly operates in Simpang Pulai and Ipoh in the Malaysian state of Perak. The company had announced on March 30 that it had stopped all mining and quarrying activities on March 18 in light of the movement control order, and was to have remained closed until April 14. The company was then applying for permits to resume operations with a minimum workforce.
Shares of GCCP closed at S$0.007 on Thursday, up by S$0.001.
