Givaudan opens S$100m production hub, perfumery school in Singapore
FRAGRANCE and flavour company Givaudan on Wednesday opened a production hub and its second global perfumery school in Singapore - representing its largest global investment for the firm's fragrance division at S$100 million.
It marks the first time that the Switzerland-headquartered firm has set up a campus outside of France, aimed at training and developing perfumers in Asia.
The Fragrance Creative Centre Perfumery School offers expertise from consumer insights to fragrance evaluation facilities, and will serve as the region's central location for the firm's growing Fine Fragrance business in Asia, Givaudan said.
The Fragrance Creative Centre and Production Hub shows the company's strong commitment to high-growth regions, noted Givaudan CEO Gilles Andrier. "We are especially excited to open our first-ever Perfumery School campus located outside of France. This marks a very significant milestone in our company's history and reinforces our commitment to Asia, Singapore and our customers in the region."
Givaudan's expansion also bolsters Singapore's position as the key regional hub for new production innovation and global brand-building in the consumer businesses industry, said Economic Development Board chairman Beh Swan Gin.
