Global banking forum opens first Asian office in Singapore

THE Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) - an independent platform for research on central banking and finance - opened its first Asian office in Singapore on Nov 16. The London-head-quartered institution has its premises at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
The opening of OMFIF was presided over by its advisory board chairman Lord (Meghnad) Desai, professor of economics (emeritus) at the London School of Economics; Kishore Mahbubani, dean of the LKY School of Public Policy, NUS; and Ravi Menon, managing director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
