Global M&A activity cools despite Chinese hunger for foreign firms
Value of deals in Q1 down 24% from a year ago; China's outbound acquisitions hit 99.2% of Asia-Pacific total

LATEST statistics are backing what anecdotal evidence has suggested so far this year: that faltering global economic conditions have put a strain on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity worldwide.
According to data from intelligence and news service company Mergermarket, the first quarter of this year recorded the lowest value of deals in two years, while the size of deals has also shrunk considerably.
