GuocoLand promotes group general manager of asset management to managing director
GUOCOLAND’s group general manager of asset management Valerie Wong has been promoted to managing director, asset management, with effect from Jan 1, 2023.
On Friday (Dec 30), the real estate group said Wong will oversee its strategy to further expand GuocoLand : F17 0%’s property asset management business across its three key markets of Singapore, China and Malaysia.
Since August 2021, Wong has served as group general manager of asset management at GuocoLand – then a new role which was created to oversee the group’s investment properties portfolio.
Prior to that, she was group manager of GuocoLand’s Singapore commercial operations since joining the company in 2014. She is also a founding member of the Discover Tanjong Pagar Business Improvement District initiative.
GuocoLand highlighted Wong’s “instrumental” role in building up the group’s asset management capability with the development and completion of Guoco Tower, which continues to see close to full occupancy while delivering “stellar” rental reversions.
According to chief executive Cheng Hsing Yao, Wong will play a key role in leveraging the expertise GuocoLand has developed in Singapore, to help strengthen the group’s asset management capabilities and business in China and Malaysia.

“Going forward, our leadership team will continue to make use of our multi-disciplinary and end-to-end capabilities to grow and diversify our business in all our key markets,” he said.
