Hanwell Holdings renamed PSC Corp again, adopts ‘new corporate identity’

HANWELL Holdings, a manufacturer and distributor of fast-moving consumer goods, on Thursday (Apr 28) announced that the company has been renamed PSC Corporation, after shareholders unanimously approved the special resolution at an extraordinary general meeting. 

Hanwell was established in 1974 as Provision Suppliers Corporation, then changed its name to PSC Corporation in 2003. In 2012, the group changed its name once again to Hanwell. 

In a press statement, the company said it has adopted a “new corporate identity” that reflects its values of innovation, adaptability, dependability and trustworthiness, as well as its ability to foster strong relationships with its customers and partners. 

The group has applied to the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading to change the name of its trading counter on the bourse, and the change will take effect on May 5 at market open. 

Said executive chairman Sam Goi: “We believe that the 'PSC' brand name has been deeply entrenched in the minds of our customers in Singapore and has generated positive goodwill over the years. 

“We want to establish an even greater connection with our customer base, as we reach out to the younger generations of consumers in Singapore and in the region.”

Looking ahead, group chief executive Henry Chu said that the company will “scale up”, expand its market footprint, and enlarge the mindshare of its brand among its customer base. 

“Through PSC, we will continue to harness our existing strengths such as our brands, network and operational capabilities to accelerate our growth in the years ahead,” he added.
