Hot stock: Sembcorp rises as much as 7% after H1 profit increase
The uptick in profit is mainly due to the absence of a S$78 million loss in H1 FY2023 from a discontinued operation
SHARES of Sembcorp surged on Wednesday (Aug 7), after the company announced that net profit for the half year was up 2 per cent on the absence of loss from a discontinued operation.
As at 1.08 pm, the counter rose 7 per cent or S$0.31 to S$4.76, with about four million shares changing hands. The last time it reached such levels was in late July this year.
Sembcorp shares later eased to S$4.71, up 5.8 per cent or S$0.26, as at 2.17 pm on Wednesday.
