[SINGAPORE] HSBC Global Private Banking announced on Tuesday (Jul 22) a series of senior appointments to deepen its coverage across South-east Asia, Australia and international markets.

These include Joanne Ng, who joins as a desk head for the Singapore team. She will lead a team of relationship managers to focus specifically on serving emerging high-net-worth (HNW) clients in Singapore.

Ng has more than 22 years of experience in wealth management, and joins from OCBC Premier Private Client. She will report to Hammad Hashmi, market head for Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

In December 2024, Annie Lim was also appointed as a desk head for Singapore, where her team focuses HNW and ultra-HNW (UHNW) segments. She has nearly 30 years of private banking experience across Lombard Odier, Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered and American Express.

In addition, Tim Morse will join the bank in August 2025 as senior business development manager, based in Australia. He held prior leadership roles at Citibank, JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank, and will focus on deepening collaboration between HSBC’s onshore franchises and offshore private banking teams.

Tom Kinnear has also joined the bank as a relationship manager, covering Australia and international markets. He has extensive experience in global markets and institutional client coverage, and reports to Kapil Khanna, desk head for Australia, Japan and international markets.

Khanna assumed his position in July 2025 and is based in Singapore. He has experience in managing UHNW client relationships across Asia-Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and was previously head of international investment counselling at HSBC. He now leads coverage strategy for key developed markets – focusing on founders, family businesses and internationally mobile clients.

Mina Chan was appointed desk head for the Philippines and Japan in April this year. Based in Hong Kong, she has been with HSBC since 2004, most recently leading the investment counselling team for the Philippines, Japan and international markets. Chan now oversees coverage teams in Manila, Hong Kong and the broader region, and reports to Abhishek Mehrotra, South-east Asia and international market head.

Meanwhile, Tony Wong was appointed desk head for Malaysia in March 2025. He has over 17 years of wealth management experience at Citi, where he held various leadership roles. At HSBC, he leads the Malaysia team, and drives strategic growth across the market through internal collaboration and enterprise partnerships.

For the Malaysia team, Rayner Wong joins from Julius Baer and Samuel Chi joins from HSBC Premier. Both take on relationship manager roles, supporting client growth and coverage in the market.

Benjamin Wang was appointed desk head for Thailand and Vietnam in January, after serving as interim desk head since July 2024. With more than two decades in private banking across South-east Asia and Hong Kong, he leads HSBC’s Thailand onshore and offshore teams from Singapore and Bangkok, focusing on client strategy and growth.

Urban Binggeli also joined the bank as desk head for Indonesia in January. He has over 15 years of wealth management experience, including previous roles at UBS and Credit Suisse. Based in Singapore, Binggeli focuses on strengthening HSBC’s relationships with UHNW clients and family offices in the Indonesian market.

Senior relationship manager for the Indonesia team, Le Hong Sie, and relationship manager Leonard Eggert will report to Binggeli. Le brings over 30 years of experience at HSBC in Indonesia, and now transitions into private banking coverage from Singapore.

As for Eggert, he previously spent two years as a corporate banker in Indonesia before relocating to Singapore in 2021, where he worked with German state-owned KfW bank prior to joining HSBC. Prior to 2019, he covered Indonesia out of Singapore.

Tommy Leung, head of global private banking for South Asia at HSBC, said: “We’re continuing to build momentum across South-east Asia by investing in top talent and deepening our cross-border capabilities.”
