Hsieh Fu Hua to take over as Tiger Airways chairman
Singapore
TIGER Airways (Tigerair) chairman JY Pillay will retire from its board and be succeeded by banking and finance veteran Hsieh Fu Hua, the airline said yesterday.
Mr Pillay, 80, will retire at the July 31 AGM after helming Tigerair for the past three years, a difficult period for the airline. Tigerair's board acknowledged his contributions yesterday, saying: "Under his stewardship, the group divested or shut down its loss-making overseas ventures. The group is now focused on its core operation in Singapore."
