IEV unit granted UK patent for self-cleaning apparatus
IEV Holdings on Friday announced it has received a patent certificate bearing patent serial number GB2506088 through its wholly owned subsidiary, IEV Group Sdn Bhd, which will grant IEV Group the patent for the "self-cleaning apparatus for the prevention of marine growth".
The patent was granted by the Intellectual Property Office of the United Kingdom and is effective as at July 12, 2017.
The UK patent for the technology is in addition to the patents issued by the Intellectual Property Office of China and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, announced on March 20, 2017, and Feb 14, 2017, respectively.
Commenting on the receipt of the UK patent, Christopher Do, president and CEO of the company, said: "The receipt of the UK patent has further strengthened our Intellectual Property Rights for the MGP technology amidst our globalisation of this low-cost solution for structural integrity management and life extension of offshore platforms, especially for the European market."
IEV Holdings was listed on the Catalist board of Singapore Exchange on Oct 25, 2011, and currently operates in four sectors, namely offshore engineering, mobile natural gas, exploration and production, and renewable energy.
