TENSION is brewing between private insurers and doctors as changes to Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) terms are being rolled out, with new terms encouraging policyholders to seek treatment from their insurers' accredited specialists or doctors.
Health insurance providers say the use of panel doctors helps keep healthcare and insurance costs affordable, but there are some concerns over the lack of transparency and consistency in panel accreditation.
