IPO aspirant Deskera to help SMEs transact more digitally
Specialist in smart cloud-based business management software eyes S$100m revenue by 2018 fiscal year.
Clarification note:TO Shashank Dixit, a downturn allows businesses to look at things in a new way. During the Global Financial Crisis in 2008, he saw an opportunity to build his company, which is aiming for an initial public offering (IPO) on the local bourse here in the next year.
"When there's a crash, there's always an opportunity. Any downturn offers a good opportunity to look at the market from a fresh perspective so there was an opportunity for us. In a good year, you'll see a lot of activity such as people getting funding and a lot of competitors coming in, but in a bad year, you'll not see that activity in the market so it's up to the entrepreneur to drive his vision during a bad year," the CEO of Deskera told The Business Times in an exclusive interview on Monday.
Deskera is a specialist in smart cloud-based business management software for several companies, including big names like Intel, Google and Sushi Tei, although it is focused on small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Mr Dixit said.
