ISDN to gain from Indonesia's power tariff hike

ISDN Holdings' hydropower business is expected to benefit from an increase in electricity tariff rates paid by the Indonesian government to mini-hydropower developers.

The engineering-solutions provider said yesterday that its return on investment (ROI) will come earlier with the hike.

To expand the pool of mini-hydropower producers, the Indonesian energy authority announced last month that electricity producers with a capacity of 10 megawatt (MW) or less will be paid a base rate of 1,075 rupiah about 11 Singapore cents) per kilowatt-hour (kWh), up from 656 rupiah pe…
