JES says ex-director claims he did not resign
JES International Holdings said on Friday a former director has denied having resigned.
It said Jin Xin, whom the company said had quit in an announcement on May 25, has claimed he did not, in fact, resign, and that the announcement is erroneous. The company received a letter from Mr Jin's lawyer last Thursday on the matter.
"The company categorically denies the allegations," JES International said. It said it had received scanned copies of the resignation documents in relation to Mr Jin's resignation, including his resignation letter, as well as Mr Jin's declaration in relation to the announcement.
It said the originals of the resignation documents have been lost, because a certain Ju Li Li has "since absconded with, inter alia, documents of the company and its group of companies".
The company had convened an independent investigation panel (IIP) to verify the allegations and a preliminary investigation has since been carried out.
"Mr Jin has however thus far refused to cooperate with the IIP and/or give his account of events and submit any relevant evidence to the same when the IIP asked him to do so."
JES International, which is based in Jiangsu, China, has engaged lawyers on the matter.
