Keppel appoints new independent director

KEPPEL Corporation has appointed Till Vestring as an independent director on the company's board, effective Monday.
The 50-year-old is currently a partner in Bain & Company's Southeast-Asia office, having worked with the management consulting firm for the past 24 years.
Mr Vestring has spent a large chunk of his career in Asia, advising companies on portfolio strategy, growth, mergers and acquisitions, merger integration, organisation and performance improvement.
The companies he has advised include those in shipping, offshore & marine, industrial products, automotive, infrastructure, commodities, airlines and telecoms.
In a statement, Keppel chairman Lee Boon Yang said that Mr Vestring's expertise would help the company with its ongoing plans to grow multiple businesses on a global scale.
Mr Vestring also sits on the board of automotive distributor and retailer Inchcape, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra Company, Leap Philanthropy and Brocon Investment.
Keppel's board now comprises a total of 10 directors, of whom eight are independent directors.
