Keppel confirms US$735m LNG vessel conversion deal
Contract with Golar involves converting a Moss LNG carrier into an FLNGV
KEPPEL Shipyard has confirmed a US$735 million contract with Golar Hilli Corporation to perform the world's first-of-its-type conversion of an existing Moss LNG carrier into a floating liquefaction vessel (FLNGV).
The wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) yesterday announced that the deal to work on the carrier, the Hilli, announced a week ago, had become effective.
Keppel Shipyard will design the vessel and undertake detailed engineering and procurement of the marine systems and all conversion-related construction services. The job includes engaging Black & Veatch to provide design, procurement and commissioning support services for the topsides and liquefaction process.
