Lotte Chemical Titan makes weak debut amid slackening interest
Kuala Lumpur
DESPITE trimming the size of its initial public offering (IPO) and lowering valuations by about a fifth, Lotte Chemical Titan Holdings Bhd made a tepid debut on Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, opening two sen higher before closing the day nearly 2 per cent down at RM6.38 compared to its offer price of RM6.50 apiece.
Lotte Chemical's disappointing debut - some say relisting as it was delisted in 2011 after it was bought over by the South Koreans - could cause some unease for Malaysia's capital-market players as a couple of more sizeable IPOs are expected later in the year, including those of Edra Energy and Bank Islam Brunei.
