KSH Holdings said on Friday evening that Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) has given in-principle approvals for redevelopment proposals to build 1,472 homes on the Rio Casa site in Hougang and a 1,052-residential unit project on the Serangoon Ville site in the Yio Chu Kang Road area.
KSH has an effective 35 per cent stake in the consortium that was awarded the Rio Casa site and 7.5 per cent stake in the consortium that was awarded the Serangoon Ville site.
Serangoon Ville currently comprises 244 units and Rio Casa, 286 units.
On Monday this week, the government said that with immediate effect, for collective sale sites of a certain scale, developers are to conduct a pre-application feasibility study to assess the traffic impact on the area and propose car-lite initiatives, traffic demand management measures and feasible transport improvement plans.
This is to ensure that the enlarged number of units does not put undue pressure on existing infrastructure in the estate.
