M1 eyes mid-2014 EPL access; Q3 up 19%

M1 might gain enough subscribers to cross-carry English Premier League (EPL) matches on its Internet TV service by mid-2014, its chief executive said as the telco posted a 19.4 per cent increase in net profit for the quarter ended Sept 30.

The smallest of Singapore's three main telcos earned $39.5 million, or 4.3 cents per share, in net profit in its fiscal third quarter. For the first nine months, net profit rose 10.2 per cent to $119.7 million.
