May airline share prices up 5%, outdoing others
US carriers have higher jump than those in Asia-Pacific, trend reflected in Q1 results

GLOBAL airline share prices gained 5 per cent month on month in May, outperforming the broader market which rose 2 per cent.
However, this growth was largely underpinned by the US carriers, which registered a 10 per cent jump in share price while shares in Asia-Pacific airlines were stable but slightly higher than April.
This trend was mirrored in Q1 2014 financial results, according to the latest financial monitor from the International Air Transport Association (Iata).
