Mid-cap stocks deliver 8.4% in total returns last year

MID-CAP stocks on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) had a less-than-stellar showing last year, generating a total return of 8.4 per cent, compared to the Straits Times Index (STI)'s 9.5 per cent.
But seven of the top 10 largest firms in terms of market capitalisation outperformed the FTSE Mid Cap Index, giving a total return of 18.6 per cent for the ten largest weightings on the index, according to a report from SGX.
