Hilton to open Garden Inn in Singapore in May, targeting travellers seeking 'added value'


WITH the change in visitor profile and Singapore aggressively targeting middle income guests in the past two years, it is timely for American hospitality group Hilton to open its first Hilton Garden Inn here.

This was revealed by its global head John Greenleaf.

Hilton Garden Inn Serangoon opens in May, despite the total inventory of 63,850 rooms across 413 hotels already existing in the island republic.

"The Singapore tourism market is changing. We see the number of midscale hotel rooms increase by more than 30 per cent in the last two years, surpassing the less than 2 per cent growth in the luxury category.
