More buys than sells among directors
THE buying remained high while the selling among directors rose based on filings on the Exchange from January 12 to 16. A total of 17 companies recorded 39 purchases worth $9.3 million versus 2 firms with 5 disposals worth $5.06 million. The number of companies and trades on the buying side were up from the previous week's 13 firms and 35 acquisitions. The buy value, on the other hand, was not far off from the previous week's purchases worth $10.5 million.
On the selling side, the number of companies and trades were up from the previous week's one firm and 2 disposals. The sell value, on the other hand, was consistent with the previous week's sales worth $5.04 million.
Meanwhile, the buyback activity surged last week with 15 companies posting 72 repurchases worth $33.3 million. The number of firms was consistent with the previous week's 16 companies but the number of trades and value were sharply up from the previous week's 57 repurcha…
