Morningstar sees 'global opportunity' in stock research
CEO Kunal Kapoor says opportunities for growth will come as markets open up to more competition

INVESTMENT research and management firm Morningstar has a global opportunity to expand its stock research capabilities while other houses cut back or outsource the work, said chief executive officer Kunal Kapoor.
Around the world and in Singapore, the firm is expanding its coverage of individual stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETF) in addition to its traditional coverage of mutual funds. There are 13 people in the Singapore office, more than half of whom are analysts.
