Nam Cheong wins US$84m vessel contract from Perdana
NAM Cheong has sold two accommodation work barges (AWBs) worth a total of US$84 million to Perdana Petroleum Bhd, an offshore marine service provider in South-east Asia. The customer has an option to buy another two vessels.
The AWBs will be the first of their kind in Malaysia when delivered and also the largest accommodation vessels built by Nam Cheong to date. Each will have a length of 123 metres and can accommodate 500 men. Nam Cheong had previously sold an AWB of smaller size to Perdana in July last year.
Nam Cheong said that its cumulative order book has increased to a high of RM1.5 billion (S$582 million) with the new sale contract.
