Nio delivers 221,970 vehicles in 2024 and hits record high in December
It delivered 31,138 vehicles in the month, 72.9% higher than the year-ago period
CHINESE electric vehicle (EV) maker Nio delivered a record 72,689 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2024, 45.2 per cent higher than the previous year.
For the full year, the group delivered 221,970 vehicles, a 38.7 per cent increase year on year, Nio said on Wednesday (Jan 1). This has taken its cumulative deliveries to 671,564 as at Dec 31.
The numbers in December were at a monthly high, with the company delivering 31,138 vehicles, 72.9 per cent higher than the year-ago period. The deliveries comprised 20,610 vehicles from the group’s premium smart EV brand Nio, and 10,528 vehicles from the group’s family-oriented smart EV brand Onvo.
The group recently unveiled the Nio ET9, its smart electric executive flagship model on Dec 21 during Nio Day 2024. Deliveries of the car are expected to commence in March 2025.
At the event, the company also launched Firefly, its compact and budget-friendly brand of cars.
The EV maker is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with a secondary listing on the Singapore Exchange and the Hong Kong Exchange.
Shares of Nio closed down US$0.06 or 1.3 per cent at US$4.51 on SGX on Tuesday.
