Nominated directors appointed to the board: Cordlife
NEW directors nominated by shareholders have been appointed to the board of Cordlife Group, the cord blood storage firm said in a bourse filing on Friday night.
Cordlife said it had received letters from Kunlum Investment Holding, nominating Wang Taiyang and Hu Minglie, and from China Cord Blood Corporation, nominating Albert Chen Bing Chuen, for appointment to the board.
This came after a April 21 notice of meeting issued by Providence Investments, Wells Spring and Coop International convening an extraordinary general meeting for the purpose of appointing Christopher Ho Han Siong and Gary Xie Guojun as directors, it added.
Cordlife said all five candidates have been named non-independent non-executive directors of the company with effect from April 29.
Mr Ho, 51, is senior vice-president of Tai Tak Securities Sdn Bhd. Mr Xie, 37, is an executive director at Bonvests Holdings and is the son of Henry Ngo, chairman and managing director of Bonvests Holdings, which owns all of Coop International. Both are based in Singapore.
Ms Wang, 30, is based in Hong Kong. She is a director at Kunlun Investment. Mr Hu, 34, is based in China. He is chief executive officer of Xingye Copper International Group as well as chairman and founder of Lighthouse Capital Investment in China.
Mr Chen, 39, is based in Hong Kong and is chief executive officer of China Cord Blood Corporation.
