NoonTalk Media expands to Thailand, signs on three Thai artistes
SINGAPORE-based media entertainment company has signed on three Thai artistes to tap the thriving entertainment market in Thailand.
The move is part of a push by the company to “strategically identify and nurture a diverse pool of multi-faceted artistes across Asia”, said Dasmond Koh, its chief executive officer, on Wednesday (Nov 1).
He added that the company has been actively pursuing partnership opportunities in Asia, and had identified Thailand as a place to expand into.
“We see immense potential in Thailand, underscored by the increasing popularity of Thai dramas and films in Singapore.”
The three artistes – Jet, Pentor and Lissa – who are in their 20s and are proficient in Mandarin, would “resonate” with the young demographic in Singapore, said Koh.
They would also ride on the wave of the increasing popularity of streaming content to connect to a broader audience.
The company’s shareholders had approved the company’s proposed share-repurchase scheme at an extraordinary general meeting on Oct 23, paving the way for NoonTalk to repurchase shares, either on-market or off-market, at a price to be determined by its directors.
The company, which specialises in artiste and talent management, multimedia, film and drama production and event conceptualisation, posted a full-year loss of S$3.2 million for FY2023 ended June, its first fiscal results since its initial public offering last year.
Its shares were last traded on Monday at S$0.099.
