OCBC has appointed Andrew Khoo Cheng Hoe as a non-executive and independent director.

Dr Khoo, 57, is currently an adjunct professor at the National University of Singapore's business school. His stint started last July and appears slated to end in June this year.

Before teaching, he had been at the Monetary Authority of Singapore for 22 years. He last held the position of deputy managing director of corporate development.

OCBC said on Monday that it has been "on the watch" for a candidate to complement the board's overall competency and skills, as well as to "refresh itself from time to time".

Dr Khoo is currently also a director at the National Environment Agency, as well as at Stroke Support Station Limited.

He holds 7,167 shares in OCBC.
