One of Accordia Golf Trust's courses suspends operations following Japan quakes
THE management of Accordia Golf Trust on Monday said operations at its golf course in the Kumamoto area (Kikuchi Country Club) has suspended its operations since April 16, due to safety precautions issued in the area.
This came in the wake of a series of earthquakes in the Kumamoto and Oita area in Kyushu, Japan on April 16, including a mainshock which occurred at magnitude 7.0 beneath Kumamoto City of Kumamoto Prefecture in Kyushu Region, Japan.
Yoshihiko Machida, CEO of the trustee-manager, said: "There is no material damage to assets or casualty reported in the golf courses in Kyushu as well as other areas in Japan."
Besides this golf course, the trust's portfolio of 89 golf courses also include two golf courses in the Oita area. They are Beppu No Mori Golf Club and Amagaseonsen Country Club. Operations in these two courses have not been affected.
Mr Machida also took the opportunity to express his condolence to the families of the victims affected by the earthquakes.
The trust said it will make further disclosures if there is any damage that is likely to have any material impact on the trust.
