PARKWAY Life Reit's manager announced late on Tuesday that Palmary Inn Shin Kobe, one of its nursing home properties in Kobe City, Japan, has three confirmed cases of Covid-19. Two are staff of the operator, KK Asset, and the third, a resident of the property.

The resident, who was hospitalised after diagnosis, has since died. The two staff, along with individuals identified through contact tracing as close contacts of the trio, have been quarantined.

The operator has undertaken additional precautionary measures to minimise contact between residents and staff and enhanced temperature screening and other protection measures. All communal activities and visits to the home have been suspended.

The property had since been disinfected by local health authorities; the operator continues to follow relevant guidelines issued by Japan's ministries overseeing health, labour and welfare. The Reit manager said it is in close communication with the property's asset manager and the operator, and will render the necessary support to them.

The property remains in operation and there is, to date, no material financial impact to Parkway Life Reit.
