DONALD Trump's economic policies will be good for the US economy in the short-run but bad in the longer run.
Some of his proposed policies include: reforming the tax code, increase government fiscal spending andpursuing fair trade over free trade.
Fiscal expansionary policies (lower taxes and higher government spending) should bring about an increase in economic growth in the short-run. This should lead to stronger demand for US equities which will also increase the demand for the US dollar and cause it to appreciate. Gold prices will remain subdued in the short-run because of this.
