PropNex appoints Kelvin Fong as deputy CEO

PROPNEX on Wednesday (Aug 23) appointed Kelvin Fong as its new deputy chief executive officer.
He is also executive director and a board member of the company.
Eddie Lim, senior vice-president, was also promoted to chief agency officer, a newly created role.
Meanwhile, chief executive and executive chairman of PropNex, Ismail Gafoor, will continue to provide strategic leadership and have overall executive responsibility for the group’s business, the company added.
Fong joined PropNex in 2002. In his new role as deputy CEO, he will lead the company’s agency, operations and strategies alongside the CEO, as well as oversee its training development curriculum.
He will also work closely with Michael Koh, the group’s newly promoted chief technology officer, to “accelerate the roll-out of its IT and digitalisation strategies”, the company added.

“I am honoured to be entrusted with PropNex’s operations alongside Ismail,” said Fong, adding that the new team will be focusing on ensuring its sales agents have “necessary professionalism” to advise and protect the interests of its customers.
Lim joined PropNex in 2013. In his new position, he will work closely with Fong and other team leaders to set out strategic plans to improve the scale, productivity and efficiency of the company’s sales teams.
He will also oversee capability building and career development of the team leaders, PropNex said.
The company also announced a slew of promotions, with five others given the position of agency vice-president.
Shares of PropNex ended Wednesday 0.5 per cent or S$0.005 lower at S$0.95.
