Prudential appoints new group chief agency officer
Pankaj Banerjee will take the lead in driving the insurer’s technology-powered distribution strategy
PRUDENTIAL has appointed Pankaj Banerjee as its new group chief agency officer, it said on Monday (Jul 8).
He assumes the role on Sep 30 and will report to Lilian Ng, managing director of Prudential’s strategic business group.
In his new role, Banerjee will take the lead in driving the insurer’s technology-powered distribution strategy. He will be based in the group’s head office in Hong Kong, and work with teams across its 24 markets in Asia and Africa, said Prudential.
Before this appointment, he was chief distribution officer at Manulife Asia.
Before that, Banerjee held senior roles with ICICI Prudential in India. He was also Prudential Vietnam’s chief partnership distribution officer, as well as the founding chief executive of the insurer’s Cambodia operations.
His appointment follows Prudential’s naming of Citi private banker Chan San San last month as the chief executive of its Singapore operations.
