SINGAPORE-LISTED companies turned in a strong set of earnings for the quarter to September thanks to the improved economic backdrop. But pandemic uncertainty and prolonged supply chain bottlenecks could threaten to slow economic growth in the coming quarters.

Of the 136 Singapore-listed companies that had issued their quarterly scorecards as at Dec 3, 48 were in the red and 88 were profitable. Their total earnings were up 133.4 per cent to S$6.67 billion from a year earlier.
