Questions for investors to ponder
TRADING on Monday, the penultimate day of the first quarter, promises to be interesting because several questions can be asked.
One is that if the Straits Times Index (STI) artificially rose towards the end of last week - largely through the banks, some property stocks and Singtel - will it suffer on Monday from "buy in anticipation, sell on news", even if there is one day left to go?
Or: With one more day before the end of the quarter, is there still scope for more upside?
