Rakuten acquires S'pore- and Japan-based startup Voyagin

JAPAN'S leading e-commerce site Rakuten has acquired a majority stake in Singapore- and Japan-based travel booking platform Voyagin, both parties announced on Thursday.
Co-founded by Masashi Takahashi, Hiroyuki Hayashi and Tushar Khandelwal, Voyagin was launched in late 2012 to help travellers discover and book travel experiences across Asia. The undisclosed acquisition sum - paid fully in cash - was reportedly over US$3.48 million.
