BUYING rebounded while selling among directors remained very low based on Singapore Exchange filings from Sept 29 to Oct 3. A total of 16 companies recorded 26 purchases worth S$10.2 million versus one firm with one disposal worth S$0.20 million. The buy figures were up from the previous week's 14 companies, 20 purchases and S$7.77 million.
The heavy buying last week was not surprising as the purchase activity by directors has been strong in the past five weeks. Sales were consistent with the previous week's one firm, one disposal and S$900,000.
Buyback activity fell with 10 companies posting 27 repurchases worth S$13.3 million. The number of firms was unchanged but the number of trades and value were sharply down from the previous week's 44 repurchases worth S$29.2 million.
