DESPITE expectations of rising inflation and stronger economic growth, analysts remain mixed about the prospects for consumer stocks given that international borders remain largely shut.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic had been uneven across consumer stocks, with supermarket players being among the biggest beneficiaries while cyclicals such as those in the food and beverage (F&B) and entertainment sectors had taken a beating amid measures to contain the virus.
