Red Bull sales top 11 billion cans in post-pandemic surge
RED Bull’s revenue surged by almost a quarter in 2022, helped by higher sales globally in a year marked by the death of its founder Dietrich Mateschitz.
The Austria-based company sold 11.58 billion cans of its energy drink, raising revenue to 9.68 billion euros (S$13.85 billion), according to selected performance metrics published on its website. Sales, turnover and operating profit reached record levels.
Following Mateschitz’s death in October, his son Mark took over the 49 per cent stake held in the company, and appointed a new management. The company paid an 866-million-euro dividend to Mateschitz on 2021 results.
Austria’s Trend news magazine first published the preliminary results. A privately-held company, Red Bull traditionally announces earnings in the corporate registry with a delay of almost a year. BLOOMBERG
