MAINBOARD-LISTED telco Singtel's full-year dividends could rise by about 20 per cent year on year, chief financial officer Arthur Lang told a briefing on Thursday (Nov 11), after a rebound at key associate Bharti Airtel propelled first-half profits skywards.
Singtel's net profit grew by 104.7 per cent year on year, to S$954 million for the six months to Sep 30, as its share of associate and joint-venture results turned positive against a year-ago loss. Excluding exceptional items, underlying net profit was up by 17 per cent, to S$983 million.
Operating revenue increased by 3.1 per cent to S$7.7 billion, on gains in the Australia consumer business.
