Reit rule changes to have little impact on sector: analysts
Singapore
REIT analysts who had braced themselves for a rerating of the sector when the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) released the outcome of its consultation paper were surprised - some even disappointed - by the tamer-than-anticipated changes.
They now expect rule changes to bear little or no impact on Singapore real estate investment trusts (Reits). On the stock market, the FTSE ST Reit Index rose a mere 0.6 per cent to 780.99 on Friday.
