Robert Kuok's eldest son passes Shangri-La Asia chairman post to sister

HOTEL group Shangri-La Asia on Monday said that its current chairman and chief executive officer Kuok Khoon Chen will relinquish both positions, and have his sister, Kuok Hui Kwong, become chairman from the start of 2017.
Both Kuoks are the children of Asia's sugar king Robert Kuok. Mr Kuok Khoon Chen, also known as Beau, is the eldest son of Mr Robert Kuok at age 62. Ms Kuok is aged 38.
The former CEO of CapitaLand Mall Asia Lim Beng Chee has become CEO of Shangri-La Asia. Mr Lim was last providing short-term consultancy services to the group through his company WIND Group Pte Limited.
Mr Kuok will be re-designated as a non-executive director on the board.
