Room for improvement in corporate governance
CORPORATE governance standards in Singapore are high, and have become a model for the region on issues such as transparency and accountability.
But there is still room for improvement, and one of the challenges for Singapore is to maintain the pace of this progress, participants at an INSEAD Directors' Forum on corporate governance, told BT yesterday.
"My experience of corporate governance in Singapore has been extremely positive, and it makes you feel that there is a firm sense of fairness, transparency and openness that is being projected, and that is excellent for business here," said Chandler Group CEO John Forsyth.
