MAINBOARD-LISTED Samudera Shipping Line is considering re-entering the dry bulk vessel market to meet the increasing demand arising from Indonesia’s prospering mining sector.
The 43-year-old group chief executive Bani Mulia told The Business Times that the company previously offered dry bulk vessels for chartering but had sold the ships off before the pandemic hit.
“I want to do it as fast as possible, because my customers… really need it now. They need it yesterday,” said the scion of the family business, on when Samudera would restore its bulk vessel chartering service.
