Sats adds three Worldwide Flight Services executives to board; WFS CEO leaves
IN-FLIGHT catering service provider Sats on Wednesday (May 3) announced the addition of three new key executives from newly acquired Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) onto its global management board.
They will report directly to Kerry Mok, president and chief executive officer of Sats.
WFS CEO Craig Smyth will be leaving the company, which Sats said was due to the “new direct reporting lines to Mok”. In his place, Francois Mirallie, group financial officer, will assume the role of deputy CEO at WFS, while executive vice-president Michael Simpson takes over as CEO of Americas WFS. Executive vice-president John Batten will become the new CEO of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia WFS.
Sats said that the addition of the executives to its board was a recognition of their contributions, track record and experience. It added that future strategy, plans and responsibilities of the WFS leadership team remain unchanged.
“Sats group also recognises the importance of talent development across the global organisation to unlock insights from diverse regions, enrich its business operations and enable expansion,” the company noted.
The global management board oversees the group’s overall business, which includes food solutions and gateway services, in all geographies which the company has a presence in.
