Sats appoints food-solutions division chief Kerry Mok as new CEO

GROUND handler and caterer Sats has appointed Kerry Mok, now chief executive of the group's food-solutions business, as president and chief executive for the company, effective Dec 15.

The 50-year-old joined Sats s58 : s58 0% in Jun 2018 as the chief executive of food solutions. Before this, he was the chief executive of supply-chain management company YCH Group from August 2017 to May 2018.

He was also the acting chief executive officer and chief operating officer of Goodpack Limited, a provider of intermediate bulk containers, from May 2015 to July 2017. Before that, he held senior roles at Accenture and DHL.

"I am honoured to be given this opportunity to lead the Sats group as it reshapes and positions itself for new growth opportunities," he said.

"I look forward to working closely with our board, customers, partners and our employees to drive new innovations and solutions, especially in the post-Covid world."

Mok replaces Alex Hungate, who resigned this month after 8 years at the helm of Sats. Hungate willl leave the company in December to join Grab as its chief operating officer from Jan 4.

Sats' chairman Euleen Goh said Mok was chosen as the "best candidate" for the role of president and chief executive after a "comprehensive succession planning process".

Goh noted that Mok has been leading the food-solutions team in the last 3 years to develop innovative food solutions to reshape the business for the opportunities that will emerge after the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Kerry is a seasoned executive with more than two decades of experience in supply-chain management and logistics," she said. "I am confident that, together with the board and all at Sats, he will lead the Sats group forward to realise our vision for the future."

Shares of Sats ended Friday at S$4.28, up 0.5 per cent or S$0.02.
