Sats' Q2 earnings dip 9%, largely due to absence of one-off gain


SECOND-quarter earnings for mainboard-listed ground handler and in-flight catering services provider Sats came in at S$65.7 million, or 9 per cent lower from S$72.2 million a year ago.

This was due to the absence of a one-time S$7 million gain on assets disposal as well as a 22.2 per cent or S$4 million decline in contributions from associates and joint ventures.

Excluding the one-off gain, Sats' net profit for the three months ended Sept 30 would have been 0.8 per cent or S$500,000 higher...
