SEMBCORP Industries is investing 102.8 million yuan (S$21.3 million) to expand its renewable energy and industrial-water operations in China, a key growth market for the group.
The mainboard-listed energy, water and marine group plans to expand capacity at its wind power plant in Huanghua in Hebei province, by almost 50 per cent; it also plans to double industrial-water capacity at its plant in Nanjing in Jiangsu province by the first half of next year.
Through a joint venture with Guohua Energy Investment Co, Sembcorp will also build, own and operate an additional 48-megawatt wind farm in Huanghua.
