Sembcorp resumes operations of Myanmar power plant
SEMBCORP Industries has resumed operations of the company’s Myingyan Independent Power Plant in Mandalay, Myanmar.
In a bourse filing on Friday (Aug 23), the company said that this follows a temporary suspension, which was previously announced on Aug 12.
“The decision was made given that conflicts around the vicinity of the plant have ceased such that the situation is now assessed to be safe for Sembcorp’s personnel to return to the plant,” the company said.
It added that the temporary suspension will not materially impact the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of the company for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2024.
Shares of the company fell 0.2 per cent or S$0.01 to close at S$4.75, before the announcement was made.
